| Kasauli wins hands down as the favorite destination for Delhiites. At an hour's drive from Chandigarh, it's a quaint little town with a unique charm. It seems to exist in a time warp and reeks of 19th century nostalgia as it was developed by the British during the heyday of the empire. Its colonial ambience is reinforced by cobbled paths, quaint shops and houses with charming facades. There are scores of neat little gardens and orchards and forests of pine, Himalayan oak and chestnut. Says artist Illoosh Ahluwalia, "I love getting away to Kasauli whenever I can. Its proximity to nature is the best part of going there." |
